In Memory of Hugh Neary

1975-2005

Hugh Neary worked on the air and behind the scenes at several Chicago radio stations. He passed away November 20, 2005 while recovering from emergency surgery. Hugh, a graduate of Columbia College, most recently held a weekend air shift at St. Xavier University's WXAV-FM (88.3). He also worked closely with Kevin Matthews and Allan Stagg, among others, at WDRV-FM (97.1), WZZN-FM (94.7), WLS and the former WXCD. Hugh began his career at ABC Radio as a part-time board-operator with WLS in June of 1998. He also put in time working mornings with Kevin Matthews, Pete McMurray and Sludge and Brian, and was of course WLS's most reliable "over-nighter." All of us who knew Hugh will remember him as a true character who did stand-up comedy in his spare time and who had a great passion for Chicago Radio. He will certainly be missed.
A Great Friend, Huge Talent and True Gentleman.
